Special screening of 'Gali Gali Chor Hai' held for Anna Hazare

Mumbai: A special screening of the Hindi flick 'Gali Gali Chor Hai' was held for anti-graft crusader Anna Hazare in his native village Ralegan Siddhi on Tuesday night in presence of the film's crew.

"Anna saw the entire film which ended at around 10 pm and expressed satisfaction over it," Hazare's aide Datta Awari told PTI from Ralegan.

"Anna agreed to watch the film despite ill health as it deals with corruption," he said.

Actors Akshaye Khanna, Shriya Saran and Mugdha Godse, all part of the film, director Rumi Jafferey, and producers Nitin Manmohan and Sanjay Punamija, were among those who attended the screening held near the Shantiniketan ground, Awari said.

"'Gali Gali Chor Hai' is a political satire about a common man's fight against corruption. So, it makes sense to show it to Anna Hazare who has become the national face of a common man fighting corruption," a crew member had said.

Last year, actor Ajay Devgn and director Rohit Shetty had met Hazare after the release of their hit film 'Singham' which also dealt with a common man's fight against a corrupt system.
