Friday Release - 'Chronicle' focuses on super powers

New Delhi: The science fiction film 'Chronicle' is releasing in India on February 3, two days after its UK release. The film is written by Max Landis and is directed by Josh Trank. It features Dane DeHaan, Michael B. Jordan, Michael Kelly and Alex Russell in the lead roles.

The synopsis of 'Chronicle' explains the film as a story about a group of friends who get superhuman abilities and start using them for small-silly reasons but the situation gets complicated when one of them decides to use those powers for darker purposes.

Andrew (Dane DeHaan) likes to video tape the events of his life but his father always abuses him for no reasons. The father has a bad history which has forced him to become insensitive towards the son. Andrew and his cousin Matt (Alex Russell) find themselves in a brawl over filming a girl.

After the incident, another friend Steve (Michael B. Jordan) asks Andrew whether he would like to film a very strange hole that produces strange sounds. They start filming the hole before the camera suddenly goes off.

They come back but only to realise that they have acquired some supernatural powers during the entire process.

The basic plot of the story doesn't boast of anything extraordinary that the audiences have not seen in the past but a different treatment can make the film special.
