Friday Release - 'Journey 2' banks upon the Rock

New Delhi: Dwayne Johnson aka the Rock starrer 'Journey 2: The Mysterious Island' is another film to be released in India this week. Directed by Brad Peyton, the 3D action-adventure film also stars Michael Caine, Josh Hutcherson, and Vanessa Hudgens.

The synopsis says that the story begins when 17 year old Sean Anderson (Josh Hutcherson) receives a coded distress signal from a mysterious island.

Her step father Hank (Dwayne Johnson) tries to stop her but eventually decides to accompany her on a strange trip that leads them to South Pacific first and then to an unknown place. This new place is serene and beautiful but full of dangerous creatures.

Their pilot Gabato (Luis Guzman) and his daughter Kailani (Venessa Hudgens) are also travelling along with Sean and Hank.

Hank finds that not everything is right with the island and it is going to sink in a few days. Now they need to find out a submarine which is their passport to life.

Dwayne Johnson has become a recognised name in the film world by now. His stints in 'Walking Tall' and 'The Scorpion King' had earned him a lot of respect in the past and now this film will try to cash upon his popularity among the youths.
